City square, Xiamen, Fujian, China.

March 2022

This is a project that explore how does my installation affected by wind movement in different time period and the interaction between my design and the visitors on site.  My chosen site is a city square, where have plenty of people every day.  After site analysis of the square, I found that there’s a vacant central area for people to exercise and walk around.  so that I’m trying to apply my installation well on the fixed street lamps on both sides of the square and integrate it into the area.

For the purpose of promoting the immersion, I then replaced the brown ropes with the blue LED ropes, which resulted in a brighter and more prominent landscape both day and night time. I also increased the number of ropes and layers without disturbing the overall tidiness. I also used these ropes to created a kind of semi-transparent walls on both sides of the installation.
